Jaa Dijo Dom is an African name that means A PLACE TO EAT
We are an All African Cuisine catering Company based in Brooklyn New York. We have taken the time to select the best flavors and dishes from Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Many other African countries.
At JAA DIJO DOM, we anticipate the needs of every type of event from in-town, outdoor corporate lunches to beach weddings and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
We employ only trained professionals to work with our clients from planning through conclusion of each event, and our “old world” etiquette and service practices; fresh inspired food; and dedication to building lasting relationships make us a truly unique partner in each and every affair.
A PLACE TO EAT
Charles was born and raised in Botswana, Africa. He is a mechanical electrician and chef by profession. Growing up in Africa, he had a passion for food; he simply loved cooking. After graduating high school, he was able to save up a few pennies – just enough to open a breakfast food stall – which helped him fund his technical college and culinary courses. However, due to the dire economic conditions in Botswana, Charles eventually had to close the stall down permanently. Through hard work and perseverance, however, he managed to emigrate to America.
Arriving in the US, he worked in restaurants and pursued his cooking dream, which offered a great learning curve, along with increased responsibility. He took culinary classes in New York and eventually learned of about the richness and flavor of African food.
Moved by the richness and diversity of African cuisine Charles embarked on a journey together, and created JAA DIJO DOM with the idea of bringing the gift of his cuisine to a wide audience: “Our goal is to create a place where all nations can taste the cuisines from all over Africa, and while doing this, we consider each customer’s diet preferences and restrictions. We aim to leave you satisfied and begging for more!”
