ABOUT HAIR FREE GIRL
Hair Free Girl. It’s more than a t-shirt…
Hair Free Girl is a brand that was created to inspire, encourage and empower women (and men) to embrace and celebrate their hair. Currently, Hair Free Girl offers shirts for women, men and girls, as well as tote bags and earrings
Who is Hair Free Girl?
Hair Free Girl is every woman or girl who is confident, comfortable and proud of the way they wear their hair, in its natural form. There are many ideas of good hair vs. bad hair, kinky vs. straight hair or chemically vs. non-chemically treated hair, etc. Today there are many more positive images of natural hair for women to admire such as popular figures, and even natural hair Barbie’s and other dolls. Hair Free Girl aims to be a part of the community that continues to promote a positive image with regard to embracing natural beauty and hair.
Although there are many women who accept and embrace their hair, there are still many other women and girls who struggle with being free with their hair and wearing it as they please, in any setting, regardless of what people may think or say.
Hair Free Girl is simply a tribute to all women and girls who are and want to be a Hair Free Girl. The Hair Free Girl is one who is unconfined, unrestricted, unconcerned and unbothered by everyone else’s opinion when it comes to their hair.
The Hair Free Girl Story
I was inspired to create the Hair Free Girl shirt, to display an image that would represent women and young girls who want to or, already are embracing their natural hair, that would make them feel represented, confident, beautiful, and unconcerned with what others may think. I hope that when women and girls see this image, they can personally connect and see a part of themselves: a proud, confident, Hair Free Girl that is comfortable with their self-expression through hair and not concerned with the comments and often negative opinions of others.
Who says “your” hair has to be straight, tamed and unkinked?
Fitting into the mold of what others think should be.
Wear your hair, as you please.
Proud.
and Free.

It’s more than a t-shirt. It’s a Movement.
